DO NOT JUST MARCH. LISTEN. ACT. COMMIT.
The eighteenth edition of Antwerp Pride – taking place from Wednesday, August 6 to Sunday, August 10 – will carry the theme
Do Not Just March
Listen. Act. Commit.
With this, we want to call on everyone who supports the rainbow community to consciously commit to protecting the rights our community has gained over the past decades, and to take collective steps toward the future.
In some Western countries, the LGBTQI+ community is under pressure. Not just in distant nations, but also within Europe, and due to the actions of the American president, the rights, health, and safety of the American rainbow community are at risk. Turning a blind eye to what is happening around us or dismissing it as a distant concern is not an option. Now more than ever is the time to show solidarity — within our own community, but also beyond it and on an international scale.

With the slogan “Do Not Just March. Listen. Understand. Commit.” we want to emphasize that participating in Antwerp Pride is not without obligation. On the mic
"Taking part in Antwerp Pride means listening, hearing, and taking action. That can happen in your immediate surroundings by respecting someone, by implementing inclusive policies in the workplace, by using the correct pronouns, or within sports clubs—and it can happen on a larger scale, for example by finally working on a legal framework for surrogacy.
Or by calling out countries that no longer respect the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. Everyone can listen, understand, and do something to make our society a safer and warmer place for everyone who is at risk of being discriminated against."
