Shopping

One of the many titles bestowed on Antwerp in the sixteenth century was ‘triomfelycke coopstad’ (triumphant shopping city). Even today, the city languishes in the accolades of shoppers in the know – shopping in Antwerp means pedestrian streets, historic dwellings and bustling shopping centres.

About Antwerp

Antwerp – city on the Scheldt, city of Rubens, of diamonds, of fashion, a port city… The sum of all these different aspects is what makes Antwerp into a real city: a vibrant, welcoming metropolis, which is also great fun and heart-warming, with green areas where you can relax and peaceful corners.

Antwerp is a veritable cultural capital, which prides itself on its impressive architecture and splendid art. Moreover, Antwerp is a fashionista’s dream destination thanks to the stores of its world-renowned designers. Antwerp: a pocket-sized metropolis which is sure to conquer anyone’s heart in no time at all.

Safety

Feeling unsafe? Call the Emergency Number: 112

Safety is a top priority for us!

Because before, during and after Antwerp Pride, you should be able to feel safe in and around our city. We are therefore proud that, as the only city in Belgium, uniformed and non-uniformed employees of the Antwerp Police Department are participating in the Antwerp Pride parade under the slogan "Proud to be your friend".

Antwerp also has a diversity team that specializes in countering hate crimes and professionalizing emergency services in and around Antwerp in terms of diversity.

Still a victim of crime but no longer in danger? Always report it!

  • How do I download the Antwerp Pride Festival Payment App?
Download here our payment app for Apple or for Android
  • Where can I pay with the Antwerp Pride payment app
Payment with our new handy payment app from Antwerp Pride is only possible on Saturdays and Sundays at the festival site at the Cockerillkaai, during the Love United festival and Closing Festival.
  • How do I order drinks and food on the festival site on Saturday and Sunday?
You can order drinks and food on the festival site at the Cockerillkaai by downloading our new Antwerp Pride app. You can do this from now on and avoid long queues at the festival itself. Download here our app for Apple or for Android Load money into your account, top up your wallet Order and pay at the bar with your app! Payment via the app is only possible on the festival site at the Cockerillkaai on Saturday (Love United Festival) and on Sunday (Closing Festival).
  • Can I also load money via the app before the festival starts?
Yes, and we recommend it! The wallet via our app is already available. This way you avoid queues during the festival and you can immediately order drinks or food when you arrive!
  • Can I buy drinks or food without the app?
Preferably not. If there really is no other option, you can pay with cash or card at the cash register. Our employees then place the credit on a special card. You can scan it at the bar. Paying via the app is faster, you don't have to queue at the cash registers and it's safer for our volunteers. Just do it!
  • Can I have my credit refunded afterwards?
You can do this via our app. If you have purchased a magnetic payment card at our cash register, you can only have this credit refunded if you create an account via the app and have this credit transferred from the ticket to the app at our cash registers. This is only possible during the festival at our cash registers. After the festival this is no longer possible. The cost for this is 2 euros.
  • How much is the refund price?
To request your refund, it costs 2 euros. After the festival you have 7 days to do this from Wednesday 16 August.
  • What is the price of a top-up?
The transaction cost of a top-up is 1 euro. This amount is the same for every amount you want to top up. That is why we recommend not to load smaller amounts, so that you avoid unnecessary costs.
  • How much should I charge?
You can choose this yourself! You can enter a free price, or you can choose between different pre-programmed prices. Keep in mind that there is an additional transaction cost of 1 euro per top-up, so try to load your wallet as little as possible with several smaller amounts.
  • Can I buy drink-tokens beforehand?
No, this year we don't use drink tokens. However this year we use a payment app. Which you can download here for Apple or for Android and already top up with funds. This way you avoid queues during the festival and you can immediately order drinks or food when you arrive! Kind of like drink tokens but then better ;)
  • What if I don't own a smartphone?
You can always create an account through our web-application and top up from there. Then you can use your newly acquired digital wallet in 2 ways: 1. Download the QR-code and print it on paper. This QR-code can then be used directly at the bar or we can link it to a card at the cash-registers. 2. You. can show your ID-card at the cash register, where we will link your account to a card.
  • Why is my QR code not valid anymore?
"This payment QR code is valid until" This means that your QR code is always regenerated when you open the app after 24 hours. This to prevent fraud and skimming. When you make connection to the internet again, the app will refresh and make a new code.
  • When can I request a refund?
From Wednesday 16 August you can request a refund of your remaining funds. You have 7 days to do this. To request a refund you are billed a one-time processing fee of 2 euros.
  • Are the Antwerp Pride events wheelchair-accessible?
We aim to make our activities accessible to everyone. The official Antwerp Pride events at OLT, Roze Huis, De Studio and de Festival-terrain are all wheelchair accessible. Moreover the wheelchair accessibility of any participating event can be seen if they carry the event category ' Wheelchair accessible '. Will you be attending with an assistance- or support-animal? Those are also welcome at our event! Still not entirely sure? Contact us my mail at info@antwerppride.com

  • Where can I park my car during the Antwerp Pride?
Antwerp has a new policy around parking, so you can't just park in the city centre if you don't live there. Moreover the whole City centre and Linkeroever have become low-emmision zones. This means that your car needs to adhere to certain standards before it is even legally allowed to enter the city. (Test your car here) Travelling from outside of Antwerp, we advise you to park in one of the multiple Park&Ride buildings at the edge of the city and travel further with the tram (the cost of which is only €1). For more information check the website Slim Naar Antwerpen where you can find the most up-to-date information about how to reach Antwerp easily and efficiently.
